Lioz

Between Campo das Cebolas and the river, everything has happened: love stories, heartbreaks, disasters and endless plates of grilled fish. These two places will always belong together. What was once a noisy market square, filled with vegetable and chaos, is now a historic and lively plaza, an impossible place to ignore. Here is where Lioz stands. 

When it was bought, the building was stripped of its character, disoriented and uncomfortable. Years of deep rehabilitation, both structural and architectural (and, for some, emotional as well), were required to restore the life it had lost. The goal was to return the building to its role: a meeting point between Alfama and the riverfront, where hurried locals cross paths with wandering tourists.
