Backyard is a small oasis in Santo Amaro de Oeiras. Three volumes, arranged around a shared garden, engage in a quiet dialogue with one another. In total, the six independent homes were designed to ensure privacy, even within a shared setting. Seeking to balance the best of urban living with the calm of a countryside lifestyle, this project wanted to respect what was once the last remaining plot in the historic area of Oeiras.
In addition to the communal garden, filled with greenery and a sunlit swimming pool, each house has its own private outdoor space, a more intimate retreat that makes you forget there are neighbors nearby. Also, each home includes three parking spots in a shared garage, enough to accommodate friends or family who drop by for a last-minute lunch.
